The white city in the desert is particularly enchanting because
of its panoramic location in a
valley, surrounded by three snowcapped volcanoes.
With 1 000 000 inhabitants,
it is Peru’s second largest city.
The UNESCO declared the city
a World Heritage Site on account
of its beautiful colonial buildings made of white volcanic stone or “sillar".
