Puno is located directly on Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable
lake in the world. Since there is
a festival or a dance at every opportunity, and a myriad of
different costumes, the city is nicknamed the“folklore capital”
of Peru. In this region, the
so-called Altiplano, the ancestral rural lifestyle has remained unchanged for ages.
